New Energy Power’s 10kV Static Var Generator (SVG) is installed outdoors on poles, tailored to the load characteristics of 10kV lines.
The SVG for 10kV lines uses low-voltage 0.6kV compensation units, which are stepped up via a 10kV/0.6kV dry-type transformer before being connected to the 10kV line. Unlike traditional MSC (contactor-switched capacitor banks)/TSC (thyristor-switched capacitor banks) that switch in different capacitor groups based on the system’s inductive reactive power, this SVG employs advanced IGBT power electronic devices to form a bridge-type converter circuit. By sampling the load current and separating each harmonic and reactive power, it quickly responds to changes in system load, actively controlling the magnitude, frequency, and phase of the output current to achieve dynamic reactive power compensation and harmonic elimination, stabilize system voltage. It features fast response speed, stepless reactive power compensation, strong filtering capability, flexible installation, easy expansion, and small footprint.
